I think it’s safe to assume that the entire Lebanese population loves Gandour – especially the celebrated chocolate wafer, UNICA.
It’s part of every person’s childhood in Lebanon and with good reason too! It’s delicious!
Gandour released 3 new flavours in the Lebanese market under their UNICA Signatures line: Coconut, Hazelnut and my personal favourite, Peanut.
Even the original UNICA packaging has received a matte and gold finish including a design upgrade for the Signatures.
FYI The Dark chocolate and White chocolate flavours released sometime last year are definitely worth a try too – they’re insanely good!
So what do the New UNICA Signatures taste like?
Firstly, the wafer is coated with milk chocolate for all three flavours.
If you’re a fan of coconut, you’ll love the coconut version. If you like hazelnuts (and even Nutella), you’ll like the hazelnut. You get the drill…
The inner layers between the thin wafers of all three UNICA Signatures are smooth and creamy, melt in your mouth quickly and are packed with flavour.
Coconut
Coconut lovers will enjoy this one. I wasn’t a fan of the ever-so-slight grainy texture, but the coconut flavour is on point!

Hazelnut
If you’re into the chocolate-hazelnut combination like the rest of the world (think Nutella), this is the chocolate wafer for you!

Peanut
I saved the best for last. UNICA Peanut flavour is basically a wafer version of Snickers – and I’m sorry for all the Snickers fans out there, but UNICA Peanut tastes better.
I wonder what it would be like if they add actual peanuts.

Final Verdict?
In conclusion, definitely check out the new UNICA Signatures for a brilliant flavour explosion. Can’t wait to see more specialty products by Gandour – perhaps they might even consider releasing limited edition flavours? 😉 I vote Halewe (حلاوة)!
