If you’re looking for the best restaurant serving Lebanese cuisine in Tripoli, Baytna Restaurant is your go-to destination.
When it comes to all things food in Tripoli, up til now I’ve covered the famous moghrabieh sandwich, the tastiest foul in Lebanon at Akra, and the most famous oriental sweets palace in Lebanon, Abdul Rahman Hallab & Sons!
Now let’s indulge in our infamously never-ending Lebanese lunch!
Discover excellently prepared Lebanese cuisine at Baytna Restaurant in Tripoli
Beautifully presented mezze dishes started to line the table one after the other. Our eyes lit up with excitement.
Lebanese cuisine is so colourful.
My favourites were the Hindbeh (dandelion), Cold Stuffed Vine Leaves (they were HUGE), Raheb (smoked eggplant with vegetables and pomegranate molasses), Homemade Potato Chips, and Fried Sambousek (meat pies). I can go on, but the list is never-ending.
This kebab dish was exquisite, but I am unsure of the name – looks like a Lebanese Mexican hybrid!
The dish of the day at Baytna Restaurant when we visited was Stuffed Vine Leaves & Zucchini couple with with Lamb Chops (so far so good), and Stuffed Intestine, which is a Lebanese delicacy known as “Fwaregh” that I never tried (and will never try). I will spare you guys a photograph.
BBQ meats for me please, thank you! They were excellent, by the way.
Dessert on a round table
I was hosted at Baytna Restaurant along with a group of Lebanese foodies and influencers during our Tripoli food tour. However, I am aware that the restaurant forbids you to leave before trying their dessert, on the house. I’ll visit incognito next time I’m in Tripoli to test how accurate my sources are 😉
Nonetheless, I forbid you to leave Baytna Restaurant without trying their homemade desserts selection.
This dish in particular is a must try: Homemade Ossmaliyeh served with ashta ice cream and Lebanese cotton candy, which is basically one of the most delicious combinations known to mankind.
Final Verdict?
I personally would come back to Baytna Restaurant if ever craving Lebanese cuisine in Tripoli. To summarize, the food is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, the prices are affordable, and the service is excellent.
Small Tip: The restaurant has two sections. I preferred the indoor section on the left-hand side when you enter from the main entrance (there’s a chandelier inside). In fact, the other section was too crowded!
If you’re looking for a genuine Lebanese restaurant experience in Tripoli, Baytna Restaurant fits the bill.
What do you think I should try next in Tripoli? I would love to hear your recommendations!
