DIVVY releases new items on their menu and here’s the FULL review!

I was invited to Divvy at ABC Ashrafieh along with other food aficionados to try their newly launched menu and I can’t wait to share the details and my review here on my blog!

It was quite a flavour-packed journey that night 😉

Let’s start with drinks at Divvy!

Did you know Divvy has a Happy Hour? Just thought I’d share this with you:

DIVVY, Hazmieh Menu

We ordered a Tea-V (18,500 LBP) based on Gin. I suggested to our hosts that this be served in a clear tea pot so that we can see the colourful fruit inside! As for my opinion on the actual drink contents, it was too sweet to my taste.

The non-alcoholic Shanghai Sun Lemonade (11,000 LBP) with ginger, cucumbers, lemonade and fresh rosemary was very refreshing!

Divvy’s Passion was my favourite drink! Although I can’t stand passion fruit in a drink, this one was rather light on the passion fruit and focused more on passion. I know that was lame, but I tried. So it’s made up of vodka, lemon, syrup, passion (fruit), and strawberries. I think the strawberries expertly masked the passion fruit in this case making it not too sweet.

Kudos to that presentation!

Ready to discover the new menu at Divvy?

Firstly, we have the Chorizo Meltada (15,000 LBP) served with bread slices – it’s like a deconstructed pizza, minus the tasty pizza dough. I found this item quite heavy and greasy and would much rather have an actual pizza on a nice fluffy baked pizza dough base.

Next up, a Rosso Pesto Linguini (18,000 LBP) with red pesto, cherry tomatoes and lots of Parmesan cheese. I wasn’t a big fan of this new pasta dish at Divvy; the sauce was too thick and cheesy.

The light but calorific Oishii Crab & Noodle Salad (18,000 LBP) came next. It’s not actually new, but it’s fairly new (I believe they introduced the dish this year?).

I personally loved this salad despite the accompanying calories. According to our hosts, it’s a popular dish which shares the strong nod of approval from many guests!

Another new item on the menu at Divvy are the Chicken Gyros (16,000 LBP) with an obvious Greek influence. T and I both loved the tzatziki dip served with it. I personally would have preferred the chicken grilled because the shawarma/gyro-style chicken pieces were quite tough and chewy. Additionally, the garlic is apparent in the flavour, which I personally don’t mind, but some people tend to feel differently.

My FAVOURITE item at Divvy is the restaurant’s famous juicy blueberry and brie burgers, hands down. But this next item came dangerously close….

The BEST new menu item that Divvy introduced to us was the Wagyu Burger (26,500 LBP): 200g of prime Angus beef, mature cheddar cheese, dill pickles, extra veggies, giant thick fluffy fries, creamy mustard dip, and the best part? Onion jam! The onion jam is served on the side for customers who prefer to have their burgers without onions. If you’re one of those people, I strongly suggest you try it because it’s utterly fantastic! The new burger could quite possibly be my new favourite in Beirut!

Unfortunately, it’s only available for a limited time only. What’s up with really good burgers having limited times in Beirut? Can’t we just find a burger we love that we can have all year round?!

ANYWAY, try it for yourself and let me know your thoughts 😉

Amai Salmon (27,750 LBP) served with perfectly sticky Jasmine rice came next (but it’s going to be super difficult to top that burger!). Yup, didn’t top it! The flavour was good if you’re into Teriyaki; additionally, keep in mind that the salmon is partially fried.

Time for a new dessert + an old but gold chocolate classic, of course!

The Salted Caramel Pain Perdu (14,000 LBP) was also launched earlier this year and it was simply exquisite! I’m usually a fan of the “French Toast” kind of pain perdu as opposed to bread pudding, however, this one at Divvy stole my heart and made me convert to the other side (just for now). It wasn’t overly soaked (thank you Chef!) and the vanilla ice cream accompaniment made the dessert even more ideal in terms of texture and sweetness.

Another favourite at Divvy, the Nutella Lava Melt (14,250 LBP) is a must! Warm chocolate fondant stuffed with Nutella chocolate in a pool of chocolate sauce, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Chocolate lovers rejoice!

Final Verdict?

I loved many of the new items introduced on the menu at Divvy; my favourite being the Wagyu Burger! Some items weren’t for me, but you can’t please everyone.

Thank you Divvy for your great welcoming and wonderful service; your staff members are just awesome <3 🙂
