Most of us love bringing home souvenirs when traveling to new places.
Magnets for the fridge are essential to my collection. However, when I visit a special and memorable place, a single magnet doesn’t cut it.
I discovered To Akrokeramo Gift Shop while on holiday on Skiathos Island in Greece.
The family-owned gift shop Ακροκέραμο is on the main Papadiamanti Street and opens in May every year for the summer season. I had the pleasure to meet the mother and daughter, who are both bursting with positive vibes. They were a huge help in choosing non-edible souvenirs from Skiathos for myself, my mom and not-so-little-anymore sister.
According to Greek Reporter, silver jewelry is one of the top 10 souvenirs to take home from Greece.
In fact, the owner Mr. Costis Theodorou has a lovely collection of traditional Greek wooden boats made by himself.
To Akrokeramo Gift Shop was my main shopping stop for souvenirs in Skiathos. I brought back with me silver jewelry with Greek designs and 100% authentic leather bracelets, and more. Prices are much better than they are most places on Skiathos Island and even in Athens! We’re talking between 10-60€ worth of savings!
Greek leather sandals, olive oil, and other Greek specialties and souvenirs were purchased from Athens.
The photo below was taken when I returned to Beirut, Lebanon. I’m wearing a pure silver cuff bracelet and ring from To Akrokeramo. The bracelet was just under 100 euros. In Athens, similar bracelets are worth around 180-200 euros!

I don’t know about you, but I personally need a souvenir from every city I visit.
As I mentioned, magnets are a must for my forever-expanding fridge collection. I think my fridge is going to fall with the current load.
I love food souvenirs too, but that’s another story 😉

Love your blog and your right the city is more expensive then villages and islands in this case. If you dont mind answering, what do you think is the best travel souvenir for someone dating only 2 months?
Hi Joe, thank you! For a new love interest, I would go for non-jewelry items. For example, you could get beautiful postcards, unique magnets, figurines (something for their house/room)… Food gifts are also a good idea if they’re interested in food 🙂
