Indigo Le Gray Beirut Has A Lavish New Menu Created By French Executive Chef Nicolas Herbault

It’s hard not to fall in love with the prestigious Le Gray in Beirut. I’ve expressed my enthusiasm for this 5-star luxury hotel multiple times over the years and I’m pleased to proclaim that it just gets better.

I had the privilege to be one of the first to try the new lavish menu by Executive Chef Nicolas Herbault and here’s a peak into this unique fine dining experience at Indigo Le Gray Beirut.

We arrived on time, 8:30PM, and started the evening with a fruity Bellini at the hotel’s posh Indigo on the Roof restaurant on the 6th floor.

Once it was time for dinner, we moved into the restaurant and were seated in front of a beautifully set table, with a menu entailing tonight’s 5-course meal consisting of 12 dishes and dessert! We were really in for a treat!

Some of the dishes we tried had an interesting Middle Eastern influence and twist which really challenged our taste buds (and worked!) such as the beautiful Norwegian salmon gravlax paired with falafel tots and the dessert hybrid Baba au Rhum with creamy Lebanese ashta ice cream.

Third Course.

A favourite on the new menu at Le Gray Beirut has to be this buttery cod fish paired with celeriac purée and vegetables – and trust me, it will be yours too!

Sweet Tooth Finale i.e. Fifth Course.

Dessert was beautiful to say the least – some proving to be rather unconventional.

We had a gorgeous Pavlova decorated with meringue kisses concealing a tangy passion fruit sorbet interior, millefeuille framboise, unconventional Baba Au Rhum, and other unique sweets.

Final Verdict?

I noticed a lot of emphasis given to seafood in the new menu at Indigo on the Roof… Could Lent be a factor here? Regardless, we thoroughly enjoyed every bite!

Overall (and as usual), the service was excellent, the ambiance was wonderful and the food was truly a delight.

Thank you for the lovely dinner and memorable evening, Chef Nicolas Herbault and Le Gray Hotel. I am looking forward to coming back again and again to sample more of your extraordinary gourmet delicacies!
