Frosty Palace: A Diner in Beirut serving more than just exceptional burgers! [restaurant closed]

It’s a no-brainer to associate a diner with gourmet burgers and milkshakes, but Frosty Palace in Mar Mikhael also happens to have a pretty EPIC brunch selection featuring delicious plates of eggs benedict and creamy scrambled eggs as well as fresh healthy drinks and made-from-scratch pancakes that look like they come from outer space!

Upon entering Frosty Palace for the first time 4 years ago, my first thoughts were “woah, this place is small!”

Little did I know what Frosty Palace truly had in store for me that day! I was hooked.

I’ve been coming here and recommending it for brunch ever since.

Frosty Palace has 3 booths that fit up to 4-5 people each and a bar with 6 stools. Can you imagine the queue at peak hours?

The interior is “ice-y” blue and silver with 2 relatively large chandeliers and vintage black and white photos on the walls.

The waiters here are very friendly and will happily help you choose if you’re at a loss. But you won’t be after this guide I’ve prepared for you 😉

What we tried at Frosty Palace (and keep coming back for):

Fresh Apple Lemon & Ginger Juice

I don’t usually order juice with my brunch, but the combination of ingredients of this particular drink caught my attention: Apple Lemon & Ginger. ‘nuff said.

Price: 5,500 LBP for a small glass

Loose Leaf Tea

Loose leaf tea at Frosty Palace is served in a cast-iron tea pot and you can choose either a small pot (50cl) for 7,000 LBP or a bigger pot (100cl) for 12,500 LBP.

I highly recommend the Genmaicha Japanese green tea with roasted rice and puffed corn or perhaps a “Light Feeling” tea for a post-meal digestion aid.

Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon

The eggs benedict at Frosty Palace is one of my favourites in Beirut . Poached eggs are served unconventionally on a toasted brioche bun with hollandaise sauce. I always add smoked salmon to my eggs benedict wherever I go. The hollandaise sauce tastes on-point and it’s rare to find a place that masters this sauce so flawlessly. Plus, that salad that comes with it is delicious.

Price: 16,500 LBP (+ 10,500 LBP for smoked salmon add-on)

Brie & Blueberry Burger

The rumours are true. Frosty Palace does serve one of the best burgers in Beirut.

Frosty Palace burgers are made with freshly ground grass-fed Australian beef (150g), charcoal grilled to medium (the way it should be!), and served on toasted fluffy brioche buns. They also offer a new special burger every 2 weeks!

The burger I chose on my last visit was the Brie & Blueberry Burger (my latest obsession), which is always on the menu. It has blueberry jam, melted brie cheese, caramelized onions, rocket leaves, and a slather of their homemade mayo. The balance of flavours is just perfect; you get melted, salty, juicy, tangy, and slightly sweet all in one bite!

I’ve ordered the Frosty Palace burger (19,000 LBP) before and it’s also super delicious! It can be customized to your liking by adding bacon, fried eggs, an extra beef patty, avocado, etc. at an additional charge.

Price: 25,000 LBP

Thick-Cut Fries with homemade mayonnaise and tomato relish

You can’t go wrong with a side of these thick-cut fries with homemade mayonnaise and tomato relish at Frosty Palace. Although the fries aren’t homemade, they’re highly recommended, especially paired with one of their decadent burgers on the menu.

Price: 5,000 LBP

Sweet Potato Fries (Blackboard Special)

If these sweet potato fries are on the blackboard, definitely consider ordering them. If you tried sweet potato fries anywhere else in Lebanon and you didn’t like them, try them here. No one does it quite right unfortunately.

Price: 6,500 LBP

Ricotta Pancakes

I am OBSESSED with the ricotta pancakes here! You would be too once you try them. The pancakes are grilled and then baked further in the oven. Before serving, they’re topped with sliced strawberries and bananas. Pour that sweet and sticky maple syrup over them for a whole new pancake experience that you will want to repeat next weekend (or the next day).

Milkshakes

No trip to Frosty Palace is complete without a vanilla milkshake. It’s one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had! Cherish every sip, because it does finish fast!!

Price: 12,000 LBP / 14,000 LBP for malt

Sundaes

My favourite sundaes here are their Banana Caramel Sundae (a great choice for caramel lovers) and their indulgent Dark Chocolate Sundae which was featured in my article on the top 8 spots to get your chocolate fix in Beirut.

Price: 14,000 LBP

Homemade Artisanal Ice Cream

Vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter homemade ice cream are always available on the menu. However, keep checking for their weekly ice cream special flavour! The donut ice cream flavour was exceptionally good with actual donut pieces in every spoonful.

Final Verdict?

Frosty Palace is one of my top go-to places for the best brunch in Beirut and you should make it yours too! Be sure to check the blackboard to see their specials.

If you avoid the peak hours, it’s an ideal place for a first date. Share a milkshake (yeah, no, order two!) and good times. Once you’re done, you can even walk around the quieter area of Mar Mikhael to find a quiet spot to “talk”.
