I’ve previously been to Tamashii’s branch in Mar Mikhael – it’s a very small restaurant with 4 tables and a bar. I was pleased to hear about their new branch in Antelias and even more so when I saw how spacious and charming the venue was!
The menu at Tamashii offers authentic Japanese sushi and classic traditional dishes paired with the largest collection of Japanese whiskey (24) and saké (36) in Lebanon!

Of course, like any other sushi night, we started with steamed sea-salted edamame.
The Wakame Salad (Seaweed Salad) is one of my favourite starters – I actually always order this when I go out for sushi.
Fresh Crab Salad with Mango, Avocado and Ponzu Sauce.
We were also served Crispy Salmon Salad at Tamashii, but I did not enjoy it since the mayo sauce was too thick and overwhelming, which masked the taste of the fresh salmon.
Thin slices of marinated salmon and hamashi with truffle oil and jalapenos followed.
The Fresh Crab Bon Bons are presented so beautifully and were so delicious!
The Agi Shisho was definitely something I haven’t tried before – chunks of salmon sashimi, sliced scallions and chili sauce. However, I’m not a huge fan of fried food.
And my favourite, of course, sashimi 🙂
The maki rolls at Tamashii are very fresh, with a light amount of rice so you can actually taste the fish!
Tamashii also serves Asian wok-style platters if you’re not a fan of eating raw seafood. Seriously though you really need to give it a chance – and another chance if you have already!
They say that eating sushi enhances the taste of chocolate. Well, that’s a good excuse for eating chocolate for dessert! DO NOT LEAVE without trying their Biscuit au Chocolat served with chocolate fondue.
